The 'Animals' in the fetishes are made of solid and blocked stone, shells, and horn. Some of the materials are; abalone, mussel, and mother of pearl shells. Some of the stones are alabaster, marble, onyx, turquoise, coral, malachite, leopard, pipe stone, lapis, agate, and fluorite.
This is some of the animals represented: Eagles. fish, bears, wolves, turtles, humming birds, foxes, coyotes, horses, ducks, and rabbits. we have probably missed some!
All of these materials are not in every necklace; some of the carvings are highly polished, usually the non Indian made, some are not highly polished.
